Victoria

Victoria’s blue bridge echoed with hundreds of car honks supporting an end to old growth logging. At six corners, 35+ people waved banners and cheered every honk. Check out the creative placards made by folks from the West Shore. Organized by Rolling Justice Bus as part of the province-wide Forestmarchbc.com. Quadra Island
The sign on the right says, “Save Loggers. Axe Corporations.”
Because of COVID19 restrictions, Salt Spring Island opted for a ‘static march’. The event was organised by Island Forest Watch, a citizen’s group attempting to stop unfettered clearcut logging of the few remaining mature forests on Salt Spring Island. A number of speeches and presentations were given including one from MLA Adam Olsen who has been a strong advocate of a more reasoned and sustainable approach to forests than that espoused by our current government.
Lardeau Valley
Lardeau area residents endured the wildfire smoke and gathered on the west shore of Kootenay Lake, to show support for reforming BC’s forest mismanagement.
